MEng (Hons) PhD CEng MIStructE

Senior Engineer

Joe is a Senior Engineer working and leading on a variety of our projects. A passionate advocate of sustainability, his interest lies in low carbon building design and he is a driving force in Integral’s sustainable design agenda. Joe has a strategic overview of our IT and sits on the technology group looking at industry innovations.

Graduating from the University of Bath in 2013 with a first class honours degree, he returned to the university to study for a PHD in low carbon materials, which he received in 2017 prior to joining Integral. Joe retains ties to the university as a visiting tutor for the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering providing advice and critiquing on third year design projects as well as various outreach events. He successfully achieved his professional qualifications with the Institution of Structural Engineers in 2021.

Joe has worked on a variety of projects ranging from conservation and experimental timber design to new build theatres and office buildings. Working on the Dyson Cancer Centre and RNHRD and Therapies Centre at the Royal United Hospitals in Bath as well as the Integrated Care Centre in Devizes, he has extensive experience in healthcare design.

In his free time Joe can be found either climbing at the local climbing walls or in the workshop producing his own skis for the next winter season, a hobby that seems to have no distinct advantages over buying skis like normal people!
