Premma is a Chartered Structural Engineer working on a diverse range of projects in terms of both scale and scope. Her experience includes complex refurbishment and extension of historic and listed buildings and she is hoping to build up her portfolio for submission to join the Conservation Accreditation Register of Engineers. She enjoys carefully interlinking modern designs with existing structures and working on projects where the structure is integrated with the architecture. Premma has excellent drawing and hand sketching abilities which she uses to aid communication. She strives to achieve elegant and efficient solutions through collaboration and thoughtful engineering input, rooted in an understanding of materials and construction.
Graduating from the University of Sheffield in 2011 Premma studied Structural Engineering and Architecture, a dual course including a RIBA Part I. After graduating, she worked for a couple of highly regarded structural engineering companies gaining her professional qualification with the Institution of Structural Engineers in 2017.
Her active interest in design and making led her to become a Technical Studies tutor for Architecture at Central Saint Martins. She is also a member of the Editorial Advisory Group for the Structural Engineer magazine.
Outside of work Premma enjoys pottery, DIY and house alterations!
