The aspiration is to provide a modern entertainment venue with first class facilities for Stowmarket and the surrounding area. The project comprises the sympathetic refurbishment of the existing 1930s theatre cinema which entails a reconfiguration of the main entrance to provide an enhanced ticketing and front of house experience. There will be a new café, facilities and a double height space to improve the user experience. The design of the two new cinema screens was driven by sight lines, acoustics and the emergency means of escape. The design maximises the floor area and limits disturbing the existing structure. Asbestos is a challenge within this project. We liaised with the design team and all parties were fully co-ordinated at the earliest stage so that the asbestos could be safely removed where necessary. The project will be transformational in terms of the external appearance and the quality of the user experience.
