Our client’s vision was to create a secluded, high-quality residential development in a landscaped environment with adopted road access. The development involved the conversion of existing buildings into three houses and three apartments and the addition of three new build dwellings to the rear. Crucial to unlocking the site was to transform the existing slope into three terraces for the houses and parking areas and carve a steep curving access road between the existing buildings and the site boundary. This was achieved by a variety of retaining walls, each designed for a specific function and designed to prevent slope instability.
