Abbot Alphege Academy

Lansdown, Bath

A brand new 210 place, one form entry primary school in the World Heritage Site of Bath and in the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on what was previously MOD land. The development is part of a S106 agreement for a wider residential scheme. We worked closely with the housing developer to coordinate a sustainable drainage system (SuDS) and undertook a Flood Risk Assessment. The collaboration of the design team has resulted in a two storey steel frame building with minimal structural depth and the position and form of the roof minimising the visual impact. Classrooms have been configured to maximise the available light and allow for natural ventilation.
