Bridgewell Supported Living

Bracknell

Bridgewell Supported Living is a standout example of thoughtful, cost-effective design that puts people first. Delivered for Bracknell Forest Council, this 20-bed residential facility supports independent living for adults with learning difficulties in a safe, welcoming environment.

The building features four self-contained apartments, each home to five residents, and includes a rooftop garden designed to promote wellbeing through sensory planting and peaceful outdoor seating.

Despite being built on a challenging brownfield site, the project overcame significant engineering hurdles to stay on budget and on schedule. Close collaboration with the contractors allowed us to reuse the existing footprint, avoiding costly foundation solutions and preserving the natural ground.

Environmental responsibility was also a priority. A tailored drainage system was developed to meet strict sustainability standards, reducing surface water flow while working within space and cost constraints. The project achieved BREEAM ‘Excellent’.
