Senior Engineer

Maria is a Chartered Structural Engineer working on a variety of projects ranging from historic conservation engineering of Grade I castles to refurbishment and new build schools, universities, healthcare, hotels, sport facilities and more. As a project engineer, Maria carries out structural analysis and design as well as managing the structural engineering input and being a first point of contact for the design team. Her experience covers civil engineering of building underground drainage and she also assists the practice with quality management audits and currency of technical reference material.

Graduating from the University of Bath with a first class degree in 2012, Maria was awarded the Hoare Lea Prize for excellence in Environmental Engineering. Her professional qualification with the Institution of Structural Engineers was achieved in 2018 and she has been awarded the Martin Ashmead prize for obtaining the highest mark in her Chartered Membership exam in the Western Counties Regional Group.

Maria is an active committee member for the Forum for Tomorrow (fft) Western Group, part of the Forum for the Built Environment (fbe) networking organisation. She was a visiting tutor at the University of Bath for three years, during this time she provided advice and critiqued on third year design projects for the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering.

Her interest in outdoor activities means she enjoys cycling and running, and every so often she goes a bit crazy and adds in swimming to the mix for the odd triathlon – any excuse for Maria to be in the beautiful countryside.
