Wiltshire Council want to improve the delivery of local public services. This project has created a large extension to the existing centre and includes, as well as the leisure facilities, a neighbourhood police team, Wiltshire offices, Learning Disability Day Centre and reception. The two storey extension was built from structural cross-laminated timber (CLT). Liaison with community operations boards was a key feature as was reducing operational energy. The CLT was fabricated off site, facilitating a rapid assembly, improving air tightness and providing sequestration of embodied carbon.
