OBU Student Village in for planning
27 September 2018
The planning application for the Clive Booth Student Village at Oxford Brookes University has been submitted.
This is a key milestone which marks the University’s commitment to students, to provide as much high quality student accommodation as possible, reducing demand on family homes in the city whilst respecting the sensitivity of the views of the site from the centre of Oxford. The site slopes significantly, has relatively poor ground conditions for foundations and drainage and is characterised by mature trees which the planners and the team were keen to conserve. Integral has worked within these constraints and developed a landscape driven SuDS scheme and an optimum structural solution of a prefabricated loadbearing wall system on small diameter piles. We would love to see our proposal for CLT to be taken forward by the D&B contractor as this further underpins the woodland nature of this village.
