Two journeys of success: win win for Maria

18 June 2019

Last Friday a group of ten enthusiastic cyclists set off from our Integral London office on a two day cycle.

The finish was at the Bath office over 130 miles away! Perhaps a novel way of celebrating 20 years of engineering challenges and successes since Integral started out in 1999. The start in Clerkenwell was slightly delayed by a large plate of brownies which consequently saved us from a downpour of rain as well as fueling us for the road – thanks Tim! The sun came out for our tour past Trafalgar Square, down The Mall, a wave at the Queen and out along the Thames. About the time we were arriving at our overnight stop at Streatley, (weary legged and in need of a shower!) the Institution of Structural Engineers were beginning the black tie Annual Dinner back in the Western Counties. I regrettably forwent this evening, where I would have been presented my Martin Ashmead prize for obtaining the highest mark in the region for 2018 in my Chartered Membership exam. Whilst I would have loved to celebrate with the Institution, I am glad to have been with my colleagues who have thoroughly supported me in not only being successful in one of the toughest exams (28% pass rate) but to the point of achieving this award. Needless to say, we all achieved our latest challenge, peddling into Bath together Saturday afternoon, exhausted yet elated!

Finally a massive thank you to Peter and Beata who navigated our support van for the duration of the two day cycle.
