Approval for redevelopment of Clive Booth Student Village

25 November 2021

Integral were pleased to hear that Clive Booth Student Village has finally received planning permission. It will provide much needed accommodation for students at Oxford Brookes University thus reducing the number of students living in Houses of Multiple Occupation (HMOs) in Oxford and hopefully making these available for local residents.

The scheme will significantly reduce the amount of surface water runoff into the local drainage system.  A large buried attenuation tank will temporarily store the water on site before it is released to the sewer at a reduced, controlled rate. In addition, we have used other Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS) features such as blue roofs, ponds, permeable pavements and bio-retention or rain gardens which also help with water quality, amenity and biodiversity. We worked collaboratively with Oxford Brookes University and the design team to achieve the best available scheme, sensitive to the environment and look forward to seeing it come to fruition.
